ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (NBC News/WCNC) – Newly obtained video shows Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family as they escape a burning plane on Thursday.
The small plane had two pilots plus Earnhardt, his wife, their 1-year-old daughter and the family dog on board.
In the video, you can see a man get out of the plane first and he is then handed a small child.
The other adults and the dog follow.
Officials say the Cessna Citation made a hard landing, bouncing and then departing the runway.
After it came to a stop, the plane caught on fire.
Thick black smoke is visible along with the flames.
The NTSB is investigating the crash.
Luckily, no one was injured.
