ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) – Mother nature decided to rain on Zionsville's parade Saturday - literally.
Saturday afternoon, the Zionsville Police Department shared an announcement from Zionsville Chamber of Commerce on Facebook that the Christmas parade was canceled due to weather conditions.
"Thank you so much for sticking with us while we worked with the weather," the announcement said. "Unfortunately it appears the forecast is going to get progressively nastier throughout the day, and as such we have decided to cancel the parade."
The cancellation includes all parade volunteers, participants, and scheduled entertainers and vendors.
Zionsville Chamber of Commerce said Santa will be at the Santa house Saturday evening and the petting zoo will be at Midwest Jewelers from 4 to 6:45 p.m.
A reschedule date for the parade and tree lighting was not provided.
