Teen with Down Syndrome just wants cards for Christmas

Sean DuCiaome didn't want presents this year, just Christmas cards.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A Christmas wish is being granted from all across the country for a boy with Down's Syndrome.

Sean DuCiaome didn't want presents this year, just Christmas cards.

“It was just sort of this conversation that developed ‘like hey, it would be really neat to have a bunch of cards from our family and friends,'” said Sean’s mother Beth DuCiaome.

So far, he’s gotten dozens of cards, but will soon have to clear a lot more space.

“I posted it on probably 15 pages and it got shared from there, so I have no idea how many times this has been shared but I know it’s been everywhere,” said Kenny Humphery, the DuCiaome’s neighbor.

For the past week, Humphrey has been having cards mailed to his house for Sean and has received responses from every corner of the nation.

“It’s at least 20 cards a day. Today was 35, I believe,” said Humphrey. “This is great, this is what Christmas is. Christmas isn’t about wanting material things. The boy wants Christmas cards. How great is that?”
