INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The lawyer for the man accused in a deadly drunk-driving crash on Interstate 70 wants his client's confession thrown out.
Manuel Orrego-Savala's attorney filed a motion to suppress on Tuesday.
He claims police didn't read Orrego-Savala his rights at the scene before asking him about the wreck, and that's when Orrego-Savala admitted to driving the truck that hit two men.
Colts player Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe both died in that crash on February 4.
Prosecutors charged Orrego-Savala with multiple felonies, including causing death when operating while intoxicated.
He's also facing federal charges over his immigration status since he'd been living in the U.S. illegally.
