Kitchen incubator opens in Indianapolis City Market

It will be home to four restaurants and caterers, all first-time business owners.

The Indianapolis Black Chamber of Commerce is kicking off Black Business Month with a new spot at City Market.

Its called "SOUL of the City," a kitchen incubator that's home to four restaurants and caterers.

All of the operators are first-time business owners.

Anita Williams, chair of the Indianapolis Black Chamber of Commerce, said the partnership is a way to inspire a new generation of small business owners.

"As Black business grows, the city grows, and we become more united and not as divided as we have been in the past, " Williams said.

The incubator is funded, in part, by Bank of America.

The restaurants offer everything from southern comfort food to an all-vegan menu. They're located in the northwest corner of City Market.
