'Racing for Kids' brings IndyCar crews to Peyton Manning Children's Hospital

The organization tells us the drivers enjoy the visits as much as the kids.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - IndyCar driver Marcus Ericsson made a "pit stop" at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Thursday morning to spend time with the kids.

It's through a program called "Racing for Kids." The goal is to connect drivers with the communities they're racing in.

The organization tells us the drivers enjoy the visits as much as the kids.

"I'm from Sweden, so quite far from America and Indianapolis, but living here in Indianapolis since January, it's nice to sort of be here and be a part of the community and do things like this. It's very nice," said Ericsson.

Owner George Steinbrenner and James Hinchcliffe's fiancee, Becky Dalton, also met with patients.
