Power outage hits Indy's far east side

Indianapolis Power and Light reported more than 6-thousand customers without power at 4:00 a.m. Monday morning on the far east side of Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Indianapolis Power and Light reported more than 6-thousand customers without power at 4:00 a.m. Monday morning on the far east side of Indianapolis.

Metro dispatch reported lines down near 42nd Street and Mitthoeffer Road shortly after 4:00 a.m.

The signals were out at 42nd Street and Post Road at 4:45 a.m., but an IPL truck restored that area shortly before 5:30 a.m.


Signals were also at 38th and Shadeland Avenue until power was restored in that area just before 6:00 a.m.

IPL showed powered restored to all but about 130 customers at 6:45 a.m.
