Police looking for hit-and-run driver who caused crash injuring pro fisherman

A professional fisherman from Oklahoma is hoping police can find the driver who hit him on Interstate 70 near downtown Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A professional fisherman from Oklahoma is hoping police can find the driver who hit him on Interstate 70 near downtown Indianapolis.

Kyle Cortiana said he was on his way home from a fishing tournament in New York when his truck and the fishing boat he was pulling were T-boned. It happened over the weekend near Lucas Oil Stadium.

He told Eyewitness News the boat went flying over the divider into oncoming traffic. Both the boat and truck are custom, Cortiana said.


So this is not what I excepted while driving home!! My boat was T-Boned while driving through Indianapolis and it spent me out of control on HWY 70. The person that hit me fled the seen on foot.

Police are also looking for the driver that caused the crash. Cortiana said the driver fled the scene on foot.

After a short stay in the hospital, Cortiana was able to make it home to his wife Miranda.

"Thanks to God for letting me survive the nasty crash. I'm still very sore but happy to be home," he wrote on Facebook.
