INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Police are investigating a deadly crash Saturday morning on eastbound I-70 near I-465 on the east side of Indianapolis.
One person was confirmed dead at the scene.
The crash happened around 4:50 a.m. at the base of the exit from Shadeland Avenue to I-70/I-465.
An officer from Indianapolis Metro Police was first on scene and discovered the single vehicle crash with one person ejected. The victim was unresponsive and pronounced dead by paramedics.
State police investigators believe the vehicle was on the collector ramp from I-70 eastbound to Shadeland and I-465 when the driver made a sudden lane change and lost control. The vehicle rolled several times ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt. Nobody else was in the vehicle.
The Marion County Coroner's Office will identify the victim after family is notified.
