Indianapolis - The Indiana Army National Guard has opened a new headquarters for its 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and four other units.
The Indiana Army National Guard Readiness Center opened Thursday on the former grounds of Fort Benjamin Harrison in Lawrence on Indianapolis' northeast side.
The 106,000-square-foot facility has room to accommodate 548 soldiers. The Indianapolis Star reports it was funded by the federal government.
Indiana has the fourth largest Army National Guard.
