INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Eiteljorg Museum is celebrating a holiday that commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery.
It's known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day. It's recognized on June 19th because that's when slaves in Texas found out they were free back in 1865.
The Eiteljorg is celebrating on Saturday June 16 with fre admission, music, performances, demonstrations, food and fun for the entire family. All these festivities run from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
