INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Authorities are investigating after a car crashed into a historic building on the near north side of Indianapolis Thursday morning.
Officials were called to the corner of North Delaware and East 16th streets around 2:30 a.m.
The 26-year-old man driving a white Volvo was trapped inside until firefighters were able to pull him out.
IMPD Major Harold Turner said speed was definitely a factor in the crash, and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
In 2016, officials said this building is frequently hit by cars that miss the turn at the intersection.
