Local fitness gym hosting workout on the bricks to benefit racing families at IMS

All ages and fitness levels are welcome to participate in a workout on the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A benefit workout is coming to the track.

"We wanted to create an epic event," said Dana Matis of Shred415 Indy. "We are calling it 'Shred the Speedway.'"

They welcome all ages and all fitness levels.

"This is the first-ever workout that will be on the bricks. We are creating history," Matis said.

The one-hour class, with cardio and body weight resistance, is tailored for all fitness levels.

"Our entire Shred415 instructors will be leading the workout. We will give instructions and modifications, as well," said Matis.

That means you can do the side planks, push ups and and whatever else in a way the works for you.

The event is a new fundraiser to benefit IndyCar workers and families facing injury and adversity, like the husband of a Shred415 employee.

"He works in the pit crew and had a burn on his arm, and so all money we raise from the workout will benefit this foundation," Matis said.

Your entry includes a Shred the Speedway tank or shirt and parking.

It happens tonight at 6 p.m. at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
