Lebanon family wins 2018 Battle of the Bulbs contest

A Lebanon man is using his annual Christmas lights show for good this year.

LEBANON, Ind. (WTHR) — The Braner family in Lebanon is this year's Battle of the Bulbs winner.

Tad Braner considers himself an aficionado of Christmas lights, but this year, it's not just for his own good.

While Braner's epic Christmas lights show is an annual tradition, it's the first time he has asked for donations. Braner said he's raised more than $2,000 for The Caring Center, The Boys & Girls Club of Boone County, Sophie's House and Shop with a Cop.

The donations to Shop with a Cop hit close to home for Braner, as his next door neighbor is a Lebanon police officer. Justin Fuston said living next door to Braner is "very bright." His 3-year-old loves the lights, and he said the show makes him want to step his game up when it comes to his own Christmas decorations.
