BLOOMINGTON - Today marks two months since Indiana University student Lauren Spierer vanished.
As Eyewitness News reported exclusively Tuesday, officials at a landfill say they're cooperating with investigators who might search the area for signs of the missing student. Eyewitness News has learned that the Sycamore Ridge landfill near Terre Haute in Vigo County is a possible focal point of the investigation.
We're still awaiting word from police on when that search may begin. The landfill is one of a few that accepts trash from the city of Bloomington.
Lauren Spierer was last seen early June 3rd, walking alone to her Bloomington apartment after a night out with friends.
A tweet sent out today from the "News on Lauren S" account saying friends and family are writing messages to Lauren. The letters will be posted on the family's blog later today.
