JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind — Law enforcement officers in Johnson County are taking extra steps to keep roads safe in July. It's part of an initiative called Operation Pull Over. The campaign is meant to discourage impaired and dangerous driving behaviors.

The campaign will use federal money to get more officers on the road patrolling. They'll be looking for impaired driving and violations of seat belt, traffic light and stop sign laws.

Officers will use special patrols to detect impaired drivers and will be on the lookout for drivers and passengers, including children, who are not properly wearing a seat belt.

Those riding without a seat belt or ignoring a stop signs and lights will receive a citation. Drivers who are caught with a BAC level over .08 will be arrested.
