INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - IPS police are investigating second school fight in as many weeks.
A teacher at George Washington Community High School on the city's near-west side said he was trying to break up a fight Monday when a 16-year-old student hit him. The teacher now wants to file battery charges against that student.
IPS released a statement Tuesday, saying, in full: "On Monday, September 12, an employee intervened in a student altercation at George Washington Community High School, and received support from Indianapolis Public Schools Police immediately upon the call for assistance. School operations resumed as usual following the incident."
