Indianapolis girl wins IPL Circle of Lights Coloring Contest

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — This winner of this year's Circle of Lights Coloring Contest is Abby Mattingly, a 10-year-old from Indianapolis.

Abby is a fifth grader at St. Pius Catholic School. With her coloring contest win, she also gets to flip the switch to turn the lights on during Downtown Indy, Inc. Circle of Lights presented by IBEW 481. In addition to those awards, she will get $529 deposited into a CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings Plan.

Abby's winning coloring sheet includes a drawing of the downtown Indianapolis skyline, complete with the Canal and Santa, made into a snow globe containing glitter and snow.

There were four other finalists for the award:

  • Rosie Kohler, a 12-year-old from Fishers who attends Riverside Junior High
  • Sophie Grotjan, a 12-year-old from Indianapolis who attends IPS Butler Lab 60
  • Piper Myers, a 12-year-old from Whitestown who attends Zionsville West Middle School
  • Ella Leininger, an 8-year-old from Noblesville who attends Our Lady of Grace

Entertainment acts will perform at Circle of Lights on Monument Circle Friday, Nov. 29 from 6–8 p.m. Watch the live show on WTHR from 7–8 p.m.
