INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – With the recent legalization of CBD oil in Indiana we know many of you want to know if it will be legalized across the country.
We recently asked the U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams if it will become a federal issue.
He tells us the FDA and Health and Human Services are studying the components of it. But the administration doesn't have a position on the issue right now.
"We want to make sure folks understand the benefits and the dangers of any medication that is out there," said Adams. "Used properly, some of these substances can be helpful, but misuse can lead us down the path of addiction. That's what we want folks to remember. "
We also got a chance to speak with the surgeon general about a new ad campaign focused on opioid addiction.
