STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — Police in northeast Indiana are warning people to beware of a herd of bison on the loose.
Nearly 60 bison escaped from their enclosure on Sunday and have been roaming in Steuben County ever since.
So far, the owners have only been able to catch eight of them.
However, if you happen to spot the others, police advise you should report it, but stay away.
That's because the 2,000 lb. animals can be aggressive and can run as fast as 40 miles per hour.
The owners and police think it could take weeks before all of the bison are back in their own pasture.
