Pools at Indiana state parks to remain closed for 2020 summer season

The DNR’s public outdoor swimming pools will be closed for the 2020 summer season due to limitations in the ability to practice social distancing on the confined space of pool decks.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has provided an update on services, events and operations that are open and closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

The DNR’s public outdoor swimming pools will be closed for the 2020 summer season due to limitations in the ability to practice social distancing on the confined space of pool decks.

The closed pools include those at the following locations:

  • Mounds State Park
  • Prophetstown State Park
  • Turkey Run State Park
  • McCormick’s Creek State Park
  • Spring Mill State Park
  • Brown County State Park
  • Versailles State Park
  • Clifty Falls State Park
  • O’Bannon Woods State Park
  • Shakamak State Park
  • Harmonie State Park
  • The pool at Cagles Mill Lake

Outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, boating, birding, hunting, horse and bicycle riding and geocaching are still allowed. The DNR suggests visitors follow posted restrictions and practice social distancing.
