PERU, Ind. (WTHR) — For years I have told everyone that would listen that the Peru Amateur Circus should be on every Hoosiers' bucket list. I am so glad that this great event is part of Chuck's Big Adventure.

Every year in July, more than 200 local youngsters present 10 circus performances during an eight day festival.

From tightrope walkers, to behind-the-scenes personnel, to playing in the "Best Circus Band In All The Land," this circus involves many local families in the production.

Paying respect to the town's circus heritage, the Amateur Circus performed in a tent from 1960 to 1968. They now perform in a modern building in the heart of Peru.

The city gets visitors from all over the world to watch these talented kids perform amazing feats.

I first emceed the circus 20 years ago and I will be behind the mic for a short time this year.
