One dead in I-65 crash in southern Indiana

A crash between two semi tractor trailers early Sunday morning on Interstate 65 near Seymour left one driver dead and the interstate closed in both directions for several hours.

Seymour (WTHR) - A crash between two semi tractor trailers early Sunday morning on Interstate 65 near Seymour left one driver dead and the interstate closed in both directions for several hours.

The crash was first reported around 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-65 at the 53 mile marker between the US 50/Seymour exit and State Road 11. Indiana State Troopers closed down the highway when the collision caused one of the trailers to catch fire.

The northbound lanes of I-65 were closed for about an hour and the southbound lanes reopened around 8 a.m.
