WILMINGTON, N.C. (WTHR) – Members of Indiana Task Force 1 worked through the night to help rescue people from flood waters in New Hanover County, N.C.
Crews rescued over 100 people from the rising flood waters.
Captain Mike Pruitt says it was one of the scariest things he's ever witnessed in his 35 year career.
Indiana's Task Force team got in around 7 a.m. Sunday to get some well deserved rest after working 24 hours straight.
Capt. Pruitt says the rain continues to pour in blinding waves and they are ready to help again whenever they are needed.
