Indiana Caverns expands family fun activities

CORYDON, Ind. (WTHR) — Indiana Caverns has more than just caves. Now, visitors can explore both below and above southern Indiana.

The "Bat Chaser" is a zip roller coaster, meaning it combines both zip lining and the feel of riding a roller coaster.

"This is very unique, this is the second one in North America," Kelly Rucker, with Indiana Caverns, says.

"It's really smooth actually," says Justin Tallio, a visitor from Louisville. "I thought it was going to be really bumpy and wavy but it's actually a really smooth ride. It's kind of like a roller coaster but you're just hanging there swaying a little bit."

The Bat Chaser is just one of the new attractions at Indiana Caverns, building out from their cave tours.

"The boat ride in the caverns is really neat if you get to do that," Tallio says.

And soon they'll open two escape rooms.

"The goal is always for people to enjoy time together," Mark Stevens, with Paradox Productions, says. "You know, we go to movies all the time and those are great but you don't get to interact with other folks."

At the Indiana Caverns that's the focus: exploring and experiencing together.
