HOLTON, Ind. (WTHR) - A Columbus woman was killed in a crash in southeastern Indiana Wednesday afternoon.
Preliminary investigation shows a car driven by 21-year-old Marion Harding of Holton, Indiana failed to yield to a westbound vehicle driven by 62-year-old Craig Schneckenberger of Columbus at US 50 and Michigan Road in Ripley County.
Schneckenberger's car hit the passenger side of Harding's car, sending both vehicles off the roadway into a field.
Harding and 77-year-old Minor Adams, a passenger in the front seat of his car, were flown by air ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. A 16-year-old that was in the backseat was treated at the scene.
Schneckenberger was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. His passenger, 61-year-old Sally Schneckenberger, was taken to King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, where she later passed away from her injuries.
Results of toxicology tests on both drivers are pending, police said.
