INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Beer fans, rejoice! Yuengling has officially arrived in Indiana.
The 188-year-old brewery is the oldest in the country. Monday morning, 2-thousand kegs were distributed from Monarch Beverage on the north east side of Indianapolis. The kegs will go to local restaurants and pubs, along with some liquor stores.
Hoosiers have long been pressing distributors and bars to start offering Yuengling. The "courtship" between the Pennsylvania-based beer and Indiana lasted eight years before finally launching in 2017.
Indiana Beverage and Five Star Distributing will also be distributing the beer which includes the Yuengling Traditional Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan brands.
Bottles and cans of Yuengling will go for sale in Indiana starting in April. Indiana is the 20th state to start selling Yuengling.
The group Hoosiers For Yuengling put together a map identifying where you could buy the new offering.
