3 Hoosier cities land on '100 Best Places to Live' list

Bloomington, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne all made the cut, with Bloomington finishing highest.

(WTHR) — The Hoosier state is well represented on Livability's list of 100 Best Places to Live this year.

Bloomington, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne all made the cut, with Bloomington finishing highest.

Coming in at No. 19, Livability touted its downtown square, craft beer scene and Indiana University's beautiful campus.

The website listed Bloomington's "local obsessions" as the IU Hoosiers and pizza, in that order.

Indianapolis came in at No. 75 and Fort Wayne landed in the No. 93 spot.

To create the list, livability analyzes economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education and health care in more than 1,000 cities across America.

Each city gets a score based upon the data, which is how the rankings are made. This year, researchers paid special attention to each city's affordability.
