IMPD investigating 2 overnight shootings

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Metro police are investigating a pair of overnight shootings on opposite sides of the city.

Northwest District officers were called to Eden Village Drive off 56th Street and Georgetown Road Saturday night where a man was reported shot. IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt shared that he went to the hospital with what was described as a "graze wound."

In the second shooting just before 1:15 a.m.,, East District officers confirmed a woman was shot at the Rise Star Apartments in the 3900 block of Shadeland Avenue.

Officer Hewitt reported she was taken awake and breathing to an area hospital, but no other information on her condition was available.

Investigators have not named suspects in either case.
