GREENFIELD, Ind. (WTHR) - A 14-year-old boy is in the hospital after getting hit by a car during trick-or-treating hours Wednesday.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Main Street in Greenfield.
“He was with his mother,” said Greenfield Police Deputy Chief Matt Holland. “He proceeded to go out into the roadway, mother tried to get him to stop but it was too late.”
Police said the driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Drugs or alcohol was not a factor I the crash.
“It was dark out when this happened, it was also a little drizzly outside sight was probably an issue. There was no excessive speed involved or anything like that," Holland said.
Police say the boy was taken to IU Health Riley Hospital for Children where he is stable.
