Some Tennessee firefighters got to play cowboy on Sunday as they tried to wrangle in a bull who found himself in the deep end.

Boe the bull is back in his pasture, but not after he went swimming in curiosity over the weekend.

Boe's owners say he walked over an open gate and wandered right into the deep end of the family's swimming pool.

The Dallas County Fire Department was called in to help pull the bull to safety.

They say they placed a chain around Boe's neck and guided him to the shallow end, where he used a little "bull power" to hoist himself out of the water.

"He got his front feet up on the edge of the pool cover, and then he (groans) and finally got up, and once he stood up, he walked out of the gate and went 'Ruhhhh' and walked off," said Jack Brellenthin with the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department. "And that was it.

Boe's owners say he suffered two cuts on his front legs, but they are healing nicely, and he is expected to be okay.
