Flames billow from Howard County semi fire late Friday

No one was injured

A semi tanker burned on U.S. 31 east of Kokomo Friday June 19, 2020.

HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. — First responders in Howard County had a huge fire on their hands late Friday night.

It happened along U.S. 31 just north of State Road 26 near Kokomo when a semi truck caught fire.

Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.

According to 13News' news gathering partners at the Kokomo Tribune, the truck's tail lights were reported on fire before the tanker pulled off the the road.

It's not known if any other vehicles were involved.

A photo posted on the Kokomo Fire Department Facebook page shows towering flames from the incident.

The driver escaped injury and no emergency personnel were injured.
