BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WTHR) - Mildred Swenson is the first to tell you how blessed she is.
Mildred is turning 103 years old this month and the party is just getting underway.
“I don’t feel that old,” she said. "I’m just very grateful that I feel so good. My health has been good. For an older person, I sure am fortunate, really. I can’t complain about anything.”
Swenson was born in Chicago on February 16, 1914. As for what means the most to her over those 100-plus years, she refers to faith and family.
“How good God’s been to me, my family’s been good,” she said. “I’m very grateful for my loving family.”
Speaking of family, she makes a timely inquiry of a relative in the room, “I thought we were going to have a party for me.”
“We are,” she laughed. "At 7 tonight.”
Swenson admitted she’s not used to all the attention.
“This is wonderful,” she said.
