Energy co-op seeks lower prices for purchase, installation of solar panels

This group has already organized 200 solar co-ops and helped more than 3,000 homes install solar energy systems.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Do you want to save money on your power bill?

There are some residents here who want to install solar panels on their homes. With eyes on a discount, they're forming a co-op to lower the price for everyone.

In honor of Earth Day, Solar United Neighbors wants to use this clean renewable energy source in Marion County.

If they can get enough interest, it will lower the price to buy and install the panels.

"When I get an IPL bill with nothing, only have to pay the service charge they always have to charge it feels pretty good, it feels very good," said homeowner Cindy Wilson.

This group has already organized 200 solar co-ops and helped more than 3,000 homes install solar energy systems.
