Indianapolis - Like a dollhouse suddenly left in mid-play, entire floors of the Falcon Point Apartments stood gaping open Friday night and reminding people the power and unpredictability of Spring storms.

The apartment complex are located near Mitthoefer and 38th Streets on the city's east side.

Brandy Pickens is one of the apartment residents displaced by the storm.
"I thought the world was coming to an end," said Pickens. "I thought this was it.  This was it. This was it."

She was in her apartment with her family trying to take cover from what she heard happening outside. "I was in the kitchen in between the walls in between the wall with my babies on the floor with the Bible praying," said Pickens

Then in an instant ... "My windows was getting busted.  Trees was falling down on us and everything."

Keyston Rice also had to dodge the storm, along with other residents in her building. "Everybody went to the hallway.  We tried to get our animals out safe and all of a sudden the roofs came in," said Rice.

The Rice family made it out safe...they're not sure about their downstairs neighbors. "I don't know if they got everyone out or not," said Rice.

Michelle Hurns stood by helplessly -- looking for anyone who had heard anything about her parents, sister and daughter.  All four were in their apartment when the storm hit. Hours later, shestill hadn't heard from them. "I'm nervous you know for something really bad that happened," said Hurns.

Lt. Jeff Duhamel fo the Indianapolis Metro Police Department was one of the officers looking for missing individuals. "We're still looking for people that are unaccounted for and hopefully we'll find them soon," said Lt. Duhamel.

But as the night wore on, it was clear the search was far from over.  People wrapped in blankets, walked around in a daze with only one thing clear to them -- they wouldn't be going home.
