INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTHR) - A Wayne County man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car Monday on an interstate highway ramp.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. on I-65 northbound on the ramp to I-465 eastbound on the south side of Indianapolis.
Investigators believe Michael Moore, 59, Centerville, had pulled from the roadway to the shoulder to check for a tire problem. When Moore emerged from the car, he was struck by a passing vehicle.
Police said the vehicle that struck Moore did not stop after the crash. Investigators don't have a description of the vehicle that fled but said it should have front passenger side damage and possibly a broken headlight.
Snow had been falling in the area but police said they're not sure if conditions contributed to the crash.
