Canal goes pink

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The downtown canal is going pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Colts dyed the canal pink to not only raise awareness about the disease but also show support for breast cancer survivors.

"I'm hanging in there and are hoping the funds that we donate help with the research for others," said Brenda Jefferson, a breast cancer survivor.

In the U.S., 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer.
