INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — GRT Glass Design on the near east side of Indianapolis offers families a unique experience with glass demonstrations like molten glass, fusion glass and glass blowing.

All ages and experience levels are welcome.

"Like, I like it but I was also nervous because I didn't want to get burned," one child said.

It can be a little intimidating, even for the grown ups. But the teachers are experienced artists, who are eager to share their passion for glass making.

"We try to encourage inspiration, come in and try to do something they're not used to, Clayton Benefiel, an employee at GRT Glass Design said. "Get off their phones for a minute, come in here and do something interactive and inspiring."

If your child is looking for something not so close to the fire, they can also work with cut pieces of glass and arrange them into mosaic design.

"We're just trying to inspire kids to be more involved in the arts, try to guide them a little bit and show them that there's a path in the arts that's possible."

At the end of class, you leave with your very own piece art you created in the class!
