Indiana native David Letterman had some thoughts to share about the state passing the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

On The Late Show Tuesday night, Letterman took aim at Gov. Mike Pence, saying, "All of the sudden, you hear nothing about the guy - boom! He's in the headlines every day. Here's what the deal is. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed into law the controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act which many believe will allow discrimination based on sexual orientation. This is not the Indiana I remember as a kid. I lived there for 27 years and folks were folks and that's all there was to it. We had things to worry about. We all breathed the same air. We're all carbon-based life forms. We didn't care. We all wore shoes. We all had the same organs. We all had hair. You go to the barber. You get sick. You get well. You have a family. You have kids. Everybody was better off, working hard, getting it done. And now this guy throws a wrench into the monkey works. I'm sorry, this guy throws a monkey wrench into the works!" Letterman said.

"Seriously, I don't know what he's talking about and I'm not as dumb as I look," Letterman said. "It may be legal but it ain't right."

He then launched into a list of people who Pence look like, including "the guy who makes his dog sleep outside," "the guy whose wife has to tell him he's 'getting a little loud,'" "the guy who keeps a baseball bat in his trunk...." and Bob Knight even made it in there.

"I'd rather have Bobby Knight as the governor of Indiana," Letterman intoned, to cheers. "Remember when Bobby Knight would throw stuff on the court? That's exactly what you want. And now we have this."
