Couple escapes overnight house fire

A northeast side couple escaped an overnight house fire that started in their attic.
INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A northeast side couple escaped an overnight house fire that started in their attic just before midnight Friday.


They had lived in their home on Buckskin Circle in the Ivy Hills neighborhood near Castleton for 45 years.

Indianapolis Fire crews took nearly a half hour to control the fire that heavily damaged the house and two cars.

Investigators estimated damage at $400-thousand.

Smoke alarms were working and nobody was hurt.
