INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - For most of us, the first freeze might signal the end of summer lawn maintenance. But it does not mean the end of road work for road crews in and around Marion County.
Contractors will be out again this weekend working on highways and interchanges as weather permits.
Watch for lane restrictions on I-465 on the north side. Only one westbound lane will be open from the White River to College Avenue starting Friday night until 6 a.m. Monday. Further west, the left lane of I-465 will close Friday night until 11 a.m. Sunday between Michigan Road and West 56th Street. This work includes ramp closures from Keystone to westbound I-465 from Friday night until Monday. Drivers can't get off eastbound I-465 at Meridian Street this weekend, or get on westbound I-465 from Meridian Street between Friday night and Monday morning.
Interstate 65 in both directions between I-465 and 30th St on the northwest side will be down to one lane between 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This work will also cause some intermittent ramp closures getting on and off I-65 at Lafayette Road and 38th Street on Saturday. Traffic getting on northbound I-65 at 30th Street will also be stopped from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday.
On the east side, northbound I-465 from 38th St to 56th St. will close Friday at 10 p.m. and remain closed through 6 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be diverted to collector lanes at Shadeland Avenue. Access to northbound I-465 from Pendleton Pike will closed at 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
In Hamilton County, all but one lane of southbound I-69 will be closed from 116th Street down to 82nd Street from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. Northbound I-69 will see the two left lanes closed at 106th St. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
In Boone County, I-865 will have one lane open in each direction from 5 a.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Sunday. Access to I-465 will see intermittent ramp closures though the day Saturday.
Drivers can also monitor road closures, road conditions, and traffic alerts statewide on the INDOTCars website.
