INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Prom night was special for the students at Bishop Chatard High School, even if there was no dance to attend.
Like many schools, Bishop Chatard's prom was supposed to be this weekend but it was canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
But every girl in the school's graduating class, whether she planned on going to the prom or not, received flowers and a card. The gifts were courtesy the senior boys and their parents.
"Operation Senior Prom Flowers" was conceived by one mom and her son and donations were made to help make it possible. A local shop, Molly & Myrtle Flowers, created most of the bouquets and set up a distribution route.
Then the boys and their parents helped deliver the flowers.
