Boxes of cats, kittens left in the heat outside of Cass County Humane Society

The Cass County Humane Society is searching for the person who left boxes of cats and kittens outside of their building in the heat on Tuesday.

CASS COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) — The Cass County Humane Society is searching for the person who left boxes of cats and kittens outside of their building in the heat on Tuesday.

They said by the time they found the boxes, all of the animals were very hot, panting and scared.

One of the boxes had kittens so young they don't event have teeth yet.

The humane society said all but two of the cats are bobtails, which are very uncommon.

The organization is hoping to track down the owner because they say dumping animals like this is "not OK."

The two adult cats that were found will be available for adoption possibly later in the week. However, the kittens are still too young. They will stay with their mother until they are weaned.
