MUNCIE, Ind. (WTHR) - The death of a Ball State basketball player at his off-campus apartment has been ruled a suicide.

A Ball State spokesperson says 19-year-old Zach Hollywood was found Tuesday morning. The Delaware County coroner later determined Hollywood took his own life..

Hollywood tweeted twice just before 5:30 a.m., including his final message, which read "Be careful what you say to everyone because you don't know what kind of battles they are going through."

Hollywood, a Bradley, Illinois native, was in his second year with the Cardinals. He redshirted last season.

Ball State issued the following statement about Hollywood's passing:

On behalf of Ball State University, it is with profound sadness that we learned today of the passing of Zachary "Zach" Hollywood, a student from Bradley, Illinois. Zach has been a part of our family for the past year. During his time on campus, he was a member of men's basketball team and made many positive impressions throughout campus. This is a tragedy. Our heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends and teammates.

The school is making on-campus resources available for students and staff who need them.

Hollywood's mother, Susan, died last August. Students at Ball State Sports Link produced this video highlighting the bond between Susan and her only son:

Hollywood was majoring in special education, something he said he shared with his mother shortly before she passed.
