INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — With the final preseason game Thursday and the regular season opener just 10 days away, the colts are counting down the days to the 2018 NFL season.
The 10-Day Countdown to Kickoff begins Thursday, with a number of special events and activities happening in the city, leading up to the first games against the Cincinnati Bengals.
An oversized Colts helmet will be on Monument Circle from Aug. 30 until Sept. 7. Stop by to take photos with the figurine.
On Thursday, Sept. 6, Mayor Joe Hogsett will join Colts mascot Blue and Colts cheerleaders to dye the Downtown Canal blue at 5:30 p.m. The next day is the first Blue Friday Blitz. Local businesses will offer special deals for the day.
Friday, Sept. 7 marks the Colts Kickoff Concert. Chase Rice, Clayton Anderson and Ben Gallaher will take the stage on Georgia Street beginning at 4:30 p.m. Former Colts punter Pat McAfee will be the host of the concert. Free online tickets are already sold out, but a limited number of walk-up tickets will be available on site.
"Touchdown Town" will take place before every Colts home game, including the home opener Sunday, Sept. 9 on the north side of Lucas Oil Stadium. It's free for fans, even without a game ticket. There will be live music, exclusive giveaways and drink specials available while watching a live broadcast of the Colts Pre-Game radio show.
