ANDERSON, Ind. (WTHR) - A new apartment complex is designed to give people a second chance.
Built on the site of the former athletic fields for Anderson High School, the 44-unit Fieldhouse Apartments had its first residents move in January 21. Each apartment comes completely furnished including all appliances, even a washer and dryer, and the office area includes a fitness center with free Wi-Fi.
“It has been exciting,” property manager Keaira Brisker told our partners at The Herald Bulletin. “Working here has lit a fire in me when I see people moving in.
“This is permanent housing, which is a major step for people,” she added.
Residents' rent and utilities are paid through a $300,000 grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. That grant will have to be renewed every year.
