INDIANAPOLIS — 1. Started in radio at age 15. Have had a paycheck in this business ever since.

2. Started doing sports play-by-play at 17.

3. My first coach’s show was with University of Wisconsin Hall of Fame Football Coach Barry Alvarez. His first Head Coaching job was at my high school.

4. Worked my way through college doing PBP of Kearney State FB and BB

5. Jumped to TV to do PBP on television

6. Jumped on the back of RFK’s campaign train when I was ten. He shook my hand as it started to roll. I wouldn’t let go. He yelled at me three times to let go of his hand so I finally did and jumped off. He won the Nebraska primary but was shot and killed just one month later.

7. I'm the youngest of four brothers.

8. Worked in Nebraska, Wyoming, Green Bay, Wisconsin and Indianapolis.

9. Made the switch to news when I moved to Wyoming.

10. Music is a constant in my home.

11. Covered my first national political convention in 1988 in New Orleans. I've covered almost every one since.

12. I majored in history.

13. I love animals. I have two dogs Franklin and Winston and a bird named Sunny Rose.
