Are these seasonal allergies, flu or COVID-19?

Dr. Steve Samuels, an internal medicine physician with Franciscan Health, said there is an overlap of symptoms, but also some key distinctions.

So here is a checklist for you:

Allergies

  • Runny Nose
  • Watery Itchy Eyes
  • Occasional Dry Cough
  • No Fever

COVID-19

  • Runny nose
  • Fever
  • Sore Throat
  • Loss of Smell
  • Dry Cough
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Body Aches
  • Pinkeye

Flu

  • High Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Less Shortness of Breath
  • No sore throat
  • Muscle Pain

Asthmatic Bronchitis

  • Cough with Mucous
  • Wheezy Shortness of Breath
  • Yellor or Green Sputum
  • Low-Grade Temp

Sinusitis

  • Nasal Drainage (yellow or green)
  • Headache
  • Fever
