The next chapter of "Toy Story" has a release date.
Pixar announced on Facebook Friday that "Toy Story 4" will hit theaters June 21, 2019. That's nine years after "Toy Story 3" was released and nearly five years after Disney Pixar first announced the fourth film would hit production.
Pixar chief John Lasseter, who directed the first two installments of the animated hit, returns for the fourth film in the series. Lasseter said in 2014 "Toy Story 4" will open a new chapter in the lives of the beloved characters, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their pals.
Reaction to the announcement was less than enthusiastic on Facebook.
"Why? They kinda ended it with all the loose ends tied up. Beat a dead horse..." commented one fan.
"You should have left it the way it was!" wrote another.
"As someone who considers Toy Story one of my all time favorite movies you are literally ruining it by milking it too much," said another woman.
