A new documentary will highlight the accomplishments of Indiana's most famous high school basketball team.

"Dreams to Legends" features video of Milan High School's 1954 state basketball championship, including game clips, interviews from 11 of the players on the team and the celebration the next day. An estimated 40,000 people came to Milan to celebrate the champions.

The championship team is known worldwide as the inspiration for the 1986 feature film "Hoosiers."

The 24-minute film is being presented by the Milan '54 Hoosiers Museum.

"We are thrilled to have been able to preserve such an important part of Indiana's sports history" said Marianne Wiggers, President of Milan 54, Inc. "People of all ages will be amazed and sports enthusiasts will love seeing this must have piece of Indiana Basketball lore. This video allows the viewer to get the full picture of the 'Milan Miracle.' The video is now playing daily in the museum's theater room."

The documentary was produced by a Cincinnati company and was funded by a special grant from the Efroymson Family Fund of Indianapolis.

Copies of the video can be purchased through Milan54.org, by calling the museum at 812-654-2772 or visiting the Milan '54 Hoosiers Museum at 201 West Carr Street in Milan.
